I bought the clamps and transoms (short 5ft scaffold bars!) in the UK, all the other bars were bought in Parthenay at a place called Comptoir des Loges on 2 BOULEVARD DE L EUROPE 79200. There phone number is 05.49.95.20.34. Each 6 metre piece of scaffold tube cost 30 euros. Galvanized scaffold tube is £15.75 + VAT for 21ft in the UK, but it’s not easy stuff to transport to France!

Loxam.fr hire and possibly sell scaffolding, but it French modular stuff.  Altrad sell proper48mm x 6m scaffold poles for a mere 70 euros a piece – apparently because each pole is safety tested.

The rear gable wall is 6.5 metres high at the apex, the quality of scaffold is improving!

This is an early attempt at scaffold erection …

It's probably a good idea to move any scaffolding out of the way before allowing an old structure like the roof to collapse on it!

The purchase of some Double Arm Transoms dramatically increased the quality of scaffold structures! Double Arm Transoms are 5ft poles with the equivalent of 3 clamps on each end. They keep the structure square because all poles will only fit at right angles. They cost about £7.50 each in the UK. Which is really good value especially as clamps are £1.50 each.

Double Arm Transoms make it easier to make the structure square - ok then almost square!
