18mm 2440 x 1220 sheets of tongue and groove OSB3 are laid on the rafters.

Tom Fitting OSB Sheets On Rafters

The OSB was bought from Point.P. in France, but it’s made by kronospan in Wrexham.

Designed for use where a high performance board is required which provides dimensional stability combined with exceptional load bearing performance in humid conditions. The OSB 3 boards survived the French winter with no covering, and were still solid in the spring.

The OSB 3 Sheets Survived The Cold Winter

We should have fitted all the sheets of OSB at the same time but due to lack of time we had to leave some gaps at the end of some rows, when we returned to fill the gaps the boards had warped slightly making them very difficult to fit.

Leaving some gaps in the OSB sheets made access to the roof easier, but the edges of the boards warped slightly
