I bought a few of these USB thermometers from Hong Kong on ebay, with a view to using a 240v USB Switch to control valves and the central heating pump. It seems like a waste of time at the moment, it’s cold throughout the barn … heat is needed throughout the barn!

Note the 500c temprature reading, these cheap USB thermometers from Hong Kong are unsuitable for mission critical applications!
The USB thermometers work quite well as long as you position them carefully, the max length of a USB lead is 5 metres, you’ll need to use hubs if you want to position them further away from the controller.

Super subject.
I’m interested to manage my home water heating. I would like to build an application to get temperature on water solar panel and tank water to launch a water pump.
Have you found a better cheap solution ?
